The Adventurer Club: A unique program for young adventurers
The Adventurer Club is a dynamic initiative designed by the Seventh-day Adventist Church (SDA) in 1972, similar to Scouting. Deemed the "younger sibling" of the Pathfinder Club, the Adventurer Club focuses on enriching the lives of children aged 4-9 years through activities designed to strengthen parent-child relationships, provide learning opportunities, and ultimately, create a community of love, learning, and adventure.
World Adventurer Day 2023 - A two-part celebration
In honour of World Adventurer Day 2023, celebrated on the third Sabbath of May, our Adventurers embarked on a two-part journey. On May 20th, our Individual Clubs, Eduro & Orion, held special programs at our church, celebrating the essence of being an Adventurer. The following day, May 21st, the celebration continued with an exciting outing to SuperPark Singapore. This event saw the participation of 85 children and parents, including 12 non-Adventist kids and their parents, adding diversity and depth to the event.
The purpose and impact of the event
World Adventurer Day 2023 served as a platform to showcase the core values of our Adventurer program. This program, by design, bolsters bonds between parents and children while promoting a holistic, balanced development in a fun, engaging environment. For the first time in many years, we organised an event specifically for our Adventurers, making it a significant milestone in our community's history.
Ensuring a warm and inclusive experience
The SAC, club directors, and Adventurer officers strived to ensure that everyone attending World Adventurer Day 2023 felt welcome and included. From detailed invitations announced in the church to providing a safe and enjoyable experience at the event, every aspect was meticulously planned and executed. This thoughtful planning culminated in a special moment when SuperPark Singapore provided a free party room to accommodate all of our attendees, ensuring an unforgettable adventure for all.
