The Youth Department recently spearheaded two vibrant events. These gatherings not only brought our youths together but also highlighted their talents and dedication to personal and spiritual growth. From the energy of a basketball court to the reflective calm of a youth camp, these events painted a vivid picture of the dynamic nature of our young community.
Spirited Basketball Tournament Brings a Slam Dunk to Community Bonding
On 4 November, the Thomson Chinese Church's basketball court was a hub of excitement and energy. The Youth Department's 3x3 basketball tournament brought together participants from various churches, creating a vibrant atmosphere of sportsmanship and fellowship. Pastor Charlie, alongside a team of helpers, orchestrated this event, turning it into a memorable evening for both players and supporters.
The cheers, the teamwork, and the friendly competition illustrated the strong community spirit that defines our youth. As the event concluded, there was a unanimous feeling of anticipation for next year's gathering, promising another round of enjoyable and spirited competition.

Navigating Life's Junctions Together at "Crossroads" Youth Camp
From 4-6 August 2023, the "Crossroads" youth camp united individuals from the Thomson Chinese Church, Maranatha church, and Balestier church for a journey of self-discovery and fellowship. Guided by Pastor Jia Hong, campers explored the intricate crossroads of life, including education, relationships, and spirituality.

Finding Strength in Adversity at Camp Exodus
From 11-13 November, youths from Jurong SDA Church, SDACC, and Filipino SDA Church participated in Camp Exodus, a unique experience designed to push them out of their comfort zones. The camp's challenging environment mirrored the biblical story of Moses and the Israelites, encouraging the youths to find God in unexpected places.
Despite the discomfort, the camp was a profound reminder of God's faithfulness. Through activities, sharing, and discussions, participants learned valuable lessons about perseverance and trust in God's guidance. The camp, meticulously planned by its leaders and helpers, left an indelible mark on the youths, reinforcing the belief in God's unyielding goodness even in life's wilderness.
