Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
We are truly living in uncertain and perilous times as we witness how a single virus, COVID-19, can take thousands of lives away, paralyse health systems, lockdown cities, and bring air traffic to an almost complete standstill. Everyone is affected, directly and indirectly, because of this global pandemic. Amid all these fears and apprehension, the church is committed to working with the authorities to implement all the recommended health measures and precautions to strengthen our fight against this virus.
The government announced on March 24, 2020 that all religious services are to be suspended until April 30, 2020. On top of that, no activities will be conducted at church premises. Any meeting in groups or homes cannot be more than 10 people at one time. The primary intention is to contain the transmission of the virus especially in places like churches and other social gatherings. The church will fully cooperate with the relevant authorities to play our part to “flatten the curve” of COVID-19 infection. This will also enable us to safeguard our health and protect our community better by complying with all the new guidelines issued by government authorities, in preparation of resuming worship services. We will continue to provide pastoral care, prayers and support to you through various forms and means. Please work with your pastors and leaders and listen to their advice as they strive to guide you forward during these difficult times.
In the meantime, all our church worship services will be live-streamed for your spiritual nourishment and you can find them in the following links:
The church is about God’s people. Wherever you may be, you are the church. I pray and urge that you take this time to reflect on your spiritual journey with God and His message for you in this time. Continue to pray for healing upon those who are infected, protection for those in the medical frontlines, and provision for those whose livelihood has been adversely affected, and for God to bring this pandemic to an end.
Worship is not only about what we gain personally, but also about what we give communally. Therefore, we are exploring practical ways to show God’s comfort and love by helping our neighbours and community.
We will get through this together, as a church.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
May God’s peace be with you.
