What is Pay It Forward?
Pay It Forward is a mindset that Adventist Community Services aims to foster through the communities in Singapore. The intention behind Pay It Forward is to encourage individuals to be involved in the lives of our community, especially those that are experiencing exacting circumstances.
The idea is to forward the blessings that we have received to someone else, and hopefully inspire them to further forward their blessings to another person; Thus fostering an attitude of empathy and a lifestyle of giving and sharing.
How Does Pay It Forward Work?
Each year, on PIF Day, lower income residents are invited to a meal and a free health screening. They are provided shopping vouchers, or a sponsored shopping trip; and healthy food hampers.
To date, over 2400 recipients have been supported through PIF Day in the different constituencies.
Since it’s inception in 2012, PIF+ has served 169 families.
PIF+ HEADSTART is tailored so children can have a more meaningful and relevant experience in community work.
PIF+ Headstart creates opportunities for kindergarten-age children to become aware of others who are less fortunate than them.
